## What's a Trust Badges at Checkout Personalization
Trust badges display icons or images with text to highlight key selling points, guarantees, or features at checkout. Each badge contains an icon or image, a title, and optional subtitle text to communicate your brand promises in a clean, visual layout. This messaging at checkout boosts shopper confidence at the final stage.
Use this Personalization when you want to:
* Reduce checkout abandonment
* Build customer confidence at the point of purchase
* Communicate policies clearly (shipping, returns, warranties)
* Replace or supplement third-party "trust badge" apps with a native solution

Checkout is the highest-intent stage of the customer journey. Small messages of reassurance can drive measurable conversion improvements by helping shoppers feel confident about their purchase and your brand. Every shopper benefits from seeing your core brand promises and trust signals, regardless of audience segment or channel.

## How to Build This Personalization in Intelligems

### Step 1: Create the Trust Badge Block
1. Go to **Personalizations → Checkout**
2. Select **Trust badge**
3. Choose **Badge tiles** and click **Next**
4. Add a **Checkout block name** (e.g., "Trust Badges - Checkout")
5. Rename the **Location ID** to be descriptive (e.g., "trust-badges")
6. Add **Heading text** (optional)
### Step 2: Configure Your Badges
Add three badges *recommended*. For each badge:
1. Choose an **Icon** from the library or upload a custom **Image**
2. Add a **Title** (e.g., "Free Shipping", "Lifetime Warranty")
3. Add a **Subtitle** (optional supporting text, e.g., "On all orders")
### Step 3: Style the Block
Configure these settings:
* **Background** color
* **Padding** around badges
* **Border style** (none, solid, dashed)
* **Border thickness**
* **Corner radius**
* **Body alignment** (left, center, right)
* **Rows and Columns** (define your grid layout)
* **Image position** (top, left, right, bottom)
### Step 4: Add to Shopify Checkout
1. Click **Next**
2. Click **Complete checkout setup**
3. Name your Personalization, something like "Checkout - 3 Brand Trust Badges"
4. Click **Complete Shopify setup** to add this block into Shopify Checkout
5. In Shopify Admin go to **Settings → Checkout → Customize**
6. In the left panel, click **Apps**
7. Navigate to **Intelligems**, click **(+)**
8. Paste your block **Location ID** into the block settings
9. Toggle on **Include block in Shop Pay** *recommended*
10. Drag the block into position at checkout, typically right above the Pay now button *recommended*

Locations vary by desktop and mobile. Make sure to preview the location on both devices. If you do not like where the location shows on both mobile and desktop, set up separate personalizations - one for mobile and one for desktop.

11. Click **Save** in the top right of the Shopify Checkout editor
12. Return to Intelligems app and click **Done** to close the instructions
13. Click **Save** in the top right of Intelligems
### Step 5: Add Targeting (Optional)
1. In the **Targeting** tab, targeting is set to **all visitors** by default *recommended*
2. Click **Save**
### Step 6: Preview and Activate
1. **Preview** your Checkout Personalization on desktop and mobile - make sure the Intelligems Onsite Editor widget loads
2. Navigate to your checkout page to view the trust badges
3. When everything looks good, click **Activate**
### Step 7: Let it run
This Personalization will run continuously in the background. When a visitor lands on your checkout page, they will see trust badges - reasons they should be confident in clicking the 'Pay Now' button, leading to a higher conversion rate.
