How to Set Up an Evergreen Campaign

Campaigns can be used on an evergreen basis, or can be included in a test. This article will walk you through the process to set up an evergreen Campaign.

Step 1: Create your Campaign

Navigate to the "Campaigns" tab in the menu on the left-hand side of the Intelligems app. Once there, click "Create Campaign".

Step 2: Define your offer

The first step in creating your Campaign will be to define your offer. In this step, you will give your Campaign a name, description and select the type of discount. For Discount Type, you can select "Volume Discount", "Promotion" or "Gift with Purchase".

  • A "Volume Discount" is a buy more save more offer

  • A "Promotion" is simply a percentage or dollars savings offer

  • A "Gift with Purchase" is a free giveaway at a certain cart total

Step 3: Configure your offer

The information required to configure your offer depends on whether you selected "Volume Discount", "Promotion" or "Gift with Purchase" for your Discount Type. See below for the required information for each discount type:

If you selected "Volume Discount", you will need to enter:

  • Eligible Products: Select which products are eligible for your Volume Discount. If no products are selected, then all products will be eligible.

  • Should Stack: Select whether the Campaign should combine with other Campaigns that are running at the same time. If you leave this unchecked, customers will not be able to stack multiple Campaigns together.

  • Discount Tiers: You are able to create up to four different discount tiers using the blue + sign. For each tier, you will select:

    • Whether eligibility for the discount should be based on the quantity of items or the cart subtotal.

    • Whether the discount should be a percentage off, dollar amount off per order, or dollar amount off per item.

    • The number of units or dollar amount needed to achieve the discount.

    • What the percentage or dollar amount of the discount should be.

    • The name of the discount that will visible at checkout for customers who receive the discount.

    • Whether the tier includes a gift with purchase, and what that gift is.

If you selected "Promotion", you will need to enter:

  • Eligible Products: Select which products are eligible for your Promotion. If no products are selected, then all products will be eligible.

  • Should Stack: Select whether the Campaign should combine with other Campaigns that are running at the same time. If you leave this unchecked, customers will not be able to stack multiple Campaigns together.

  • Offer Type and Amount: This can be a percentage off, dollar amount off per order, or dollar amount off per item.

  • Minimum Purchase Requirement: The number of units or dollar amount needed to achieve the discount. "No Minimum Requirement" will be selected by default.

  • Maximum Discount Amount: The maximum dollar amount discount that a customer can receive in the case of a percentage off offer.

  • Discount Title: This is the discount name that will visible at checkout for customers who receive the discount.

If you selected "Gift with Purchase", you will need to enter:

  • Select a Gift with Purchase: Select which product will be provided as a gift with purchase. Note that you can only select one product, and one variant if there are multiple variants of that product. If you would like your customers to be able to choose a variant, please note that Intelligems does not provide the front end component for this.

  • Should Stack: Select whether the Campaign should combine with other Campaigns that are running at the same time. If you leave this unchecked, customers will not be able to stack multiple Campaigns together.

  • Minimum Purchase Requirement: The number of units or dollar amount needed to achieve the discount. "No Minimum Requirement" will be selected by default.

  • Automatically Add Gift to Cart: Toggling this option on will automatically add the gift to cart when a customer has met the requirements. If this is left off, a customer will need to manually add the product to cart in order to receive the free gift. Please note that you will need to choose one product variant in order to be able to turn this option on.

Step 4: Set up Target Audiences

Select and customize which customers are eligible for this Campaign. Targeting is completely optional, and only necessary if you'd like to limit your Campaign to specific users. There are two different ways that you can target users:

  1. Simple: This option is used if you would prefer for the Campaign to only be accessible for a link. Intelligems will create a custom link for you, which you will then need to use in the locations you wish to drive traffic from. To use the Simple option, select "Simple" and toggle on the setting for "Select if this campaign should require a link to access" and input what landing page you'd like visitors to land on for the Campaign. You can leave this as is if you'd like to just use your homepage. After saving your Campaign, your unique link will be accessible here or from the Campaigns overview page.

  1. Advanced: This option is used if you would prefer to target only certain visitors, based of of things like currency, country, UTM parameters, device type or other attributes. To use the Advanced option, select "Advanced" and see our article here for more information on setting up this type of targeting.

Step 5: Set up your Personalized Interfaces

In this optional step, you can toggle on and customize where this campaign will be visible on your site. The options vary depending on what type of discount you have set up, but the full options include:

  • Quantity Buttons: These buttons will appear on your product pages for customers to quickly add multiple units to cart. More info on integrating and customizing these here.

  • Progress Bar: This bar will appear in the cart view to show your customers how much more they need to purchase to achieve specific discounts, prompting them to buy more to get the best deal without ever leaving their cart. More info on integrating and customizing these here.

  • Pop Up / Slide Out: This pop up will appear in the top right corner of your site. The language and colors are fully customizable so you can use this feature to highlight what you want.

  • Update Website Text: Use our onsite editor to make updates to language and imagery onsite to better merchandise your promotion. More info on this feature here.

Step 6: Save your Campaign

Once you have completed all the above steps, you will be able to save your Campaign with the save button in the bottom left. This will save the Campaign in your account, but will not impact anything on the site until you have completed the integration and toggle the Campaign on from the 'Campaign Overview' page.
